John has had great relationships with leading trainers especially with the late Tommy Smith with whom he selected many horses for, read the article here. John also has a most successful record in stud purchase and management having purchased, set up and initially managed Emirates Park Stud for interests associated with the Royal family of Dubai.

John selected the matings initially for the stud that produced horses such as DARBAAS, BRAVE WARRIOR, AL FAARIS, BUNDLE OF THANKS, and many others.

He also selected and purchased COSSACK WARRIOR as the foundation sire for Emirates Park. He proved to be a most successful stallion and sire of sires such as BRAVE WARRIOR.

Broodmare sales include the champion mares STAGE HIT and PRIDE OF TAHNEE (The dam of Group one winners SINGING THE BLUES, REFERRAL and, SHOGUN LODGE).

Six figure broodmare sales to Jim Fleming have been CHLORYPYLL, (OUR) HEAVENLY BODY, and MA CHIQUITA.
